- Moisture = water (if aloe is included, bonus) Keep hair wet with water before adding moisturizer.
- Moisturizer = butter product ( e.g., coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter) that absorbs into the hair, and helps strengthen it by attracting proteins. Traps the water.
- Sealant = oil (e.g., olive oil, almond oil, argan oil, sunflower oil) that is not absorbed into hair, but provides external protection from water loss and against frizz. Seals the moisturizer in.
- Carrier Oils = these oils carry nutrients from the oil, itself, to the skin and/or hair. (Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, Castor Oil, Avocado Oil) Can apply to clean hair. Goes directly into hair.
